Page views on this site are counted with Vercel Web Analytics so the operator can see which desks (Wire, Square, President, Law, Pocket, Voting, War, Briefing) get traffic. That product is built to avoid advertising cookies and does not identify a named person to this desk.

Google Analytics 4 is not loaded. The gtag script is injected only when the environment variable NEXT_PUBLIC_GA_MEASUREMENT_ID is set to a real G-… ID. No measurement ID is baked into this source.

Labeled SPONSOR UNIT slots may load Google AdSense display ads. Advertising cookies and similar identifiers can be set by Google under its ads and partner policies. Units are framed as briefing inventory (gold/teal, SPONSOR / AD). They do not cover headlines and they do not autoplay video.

Square records real ballots (which poll, which option), an anonymous cookie voter id, and optional ZIP and optional party self-ID if you type them (the party self-ID is also stored on a Square cookie so the Kitchen table voice room can keep even sides). Poll-thread comments store the handle you enter and the message. New posts also store that cookie so you can delete your own post after a confirm; the voter id is never sent to the browser. Report post hides someone else’s message after you confirm (abuse or spam); it does not name or ban a person. The same cookie voter who reported can undo. The voice room stores handle, party self-ID, join/wait status for the live even-count rule, and the speak-line / 60-second turn; it does not record audio unless a Daily host key is set. There is no email/password on Square. Party splits are labeled self-ID and stay hidden below a small sample. Votes and poll threads persist in Upstash Redis / Vercel KV when those env pairs are set, otherwise in Vercel Blob when BLOB_READ_WRITE_TOKEN is set. Off Vercel, a local .data/square-state.json file arms the desk for development. If no store is armed, the board says so and does not invent returns.

This desk does not run a data-brokerage business and does not currently sell visitor lists. That is an operator practice, not a warranty covering Google, Vercel, or any future ad partner. If advertising or GA4 is armed, those companies process data under their own terms. This page will not pretend we can forbid a third party from combining identifiers.
